- Well, I did an Icon Info on HDToolbox, changed the number of scsii's to
- 5, and then tried to open HD tool Box. I got a message saying that the
- scsii information was "changed" and I should click on each scsii devcice
- shown to notify it of the change and then "save Changes" Which I stupidly
- did. Now I can't boot, EVEN FROM A FLOPPY or EVEN FROM THE EARLY BOOT
- OPTIONS mouse both button combo. The Hd starts up and begins to churn and
- then STOPS with the HD light on. Where are SCSII addresses stored? In a
- chip somewhere? A friend mentioned the chip marked "WDCPROTO" as the
- scsii controller chip? (A3000) He also mentioned removing the battery,
- letting it sit for awhile and returning it, apparently to erase chip
- memory of my scsii modified (incorrectly) addresses.
- ARRGH!! this is awful. How do you fix scsii addresses if you can't even
- boot from floppy? How do you do anything? PLEASE help.
- Thanks in advance, Jack
